My First Taste of Summer

Today really felt like a summer day! It was Nicholas's first introduction to the hot weather, and he didn't seem to mind it at all. So, we slathered him up with sunscreen, put a hat on him, and got him outside. Before long, we were back inside to strip off a layer of clothes. We spent the rest of the day in just a onesie.

It was a busy day for Nicholas too! He drank some juice from his sippy cup for the first time, had a quick visit with his friend Gregory from next door, and even took a ride on Daddy's tractor! Both Todd and our neighbor are counting the days until the boys are old enough to mow the lawn.

Needless to say... Nicholas was pooped, and after a cool tubby to wash off all the sunscreen, we put him in a pair of his summer jammies, and he was asleep in no time. It was so cute seeing his little toes sticking out from under the blanket! This summer should be a blast!!

Our Happy Six Month Old

Nicholas is loving being a six month old! Lately, he has been all smiles, and laughing at EVERYTHING! What a great age. It's so much fun for Todd and I to see him so happy.

We had to reschedule his doctor's appointment until next week, so we're still not sure exactly how big he is... but he's growing and eating like crazy, so I'm sure it will be a healthy number!

He's also starting to reach for everything. Almost time to baby-proof the house! That should be interesting. His favorite things to reach for? Faces and kitty cats! Check out Nicholas petting Mona! He's going to be an animal lover, just like his mom and dad!

Thank You, Easter Bunny! (bawk bawk!!)

OK, so... it's possible that only people of my generation will remember the commercial that inspired the title of this post, but I couldn't help myself.

We had an extremely busy Easter weekend, which included Nicholas's very first Easter egg hunt (which unfortunately took place in the rain), a visit with the Easter bunny, and lots of family time. Check out the teddy bear made entirely out of Papa's old ties! What a special gift.

All is going well in Nicholas's world. He is growing so fast, and changing and learning every day. He is now rolling over, which is pretty exciting. He's also finding his voice, and trying out some new sounds, including a high pitched squeal that could bust any eardrum within a mile radius. We're looking forward to his doctor's appointment next week so we can find out his official height and weight. He is getting so HEAVY! I've started back at the chiropractor recently because of it.

Thanks for all the cards, gifts, and Happy Easter wishes. Nicholas is such a lucky kid!
