A Busy Day In Maine

Nicholas is having such a great time in Maine - who wouldn't? It has been beautiful up here - and surprisingly warm for April. In fact, the cottage wasn't even open at this time last year.

We had a very busy day today. We went to the beach! It was low tide, and we were able to walk along the shore and find lots of shells. Nicholas saw 3
horses walking on the beach, and even got to play with a couple of very friendly border collies for a while. He loved the sand - it was nice and warm, and he sat right down in it.

We also went out for lunch - fried cla
ms and chowder - yummy! Nicholas had a grilled cheese. We also went to this great ice cream place where they have a life-sized chocolate moose (get it?). It was a big hit with Nicholas - he kept holding out his spoon trying to feed the moose - it was so darned cute. Of course, I left my camera in the car...

Nicholas also got some new shoes today. They're SO adorable, but hard to take a picture of- considering how he won't stay still long enough for me to get a decent picture! Size 7 already - he's just getting so big.

Headed home tomorrow. Can't wait for summer vacation!

The Tradition Continues...

I swear we could probably fill an entire photo album with all of the pictures of my sister and I in the daffodils at Hubbard Park. Last year, we didn't make it over there to get any pictures, but today - we made it! It turned out to be a beautiful day - kind of unexpectedly.

He was fascinated with the geese in the pond - he kept yellin
g to them and waving to them.

He sat for quite a while in the flowers - which is rare. Normally he's wiggling all over the place. Honestly, I think he was just blown away by the sheer number of flowers! As soon as we drove into the park, he kept gasping and saying "Ooooohh!"

We also went over to the playground which was PACKED! He has a thing for slides - here's a picture of him on his way down. Before we know it, he'll be climbing the ladder and flying down all by himself (sniff sniff...).

Yikes!

Well... I knew it had been a while since my last post, but then I saw the picture of the snow in my last post - I guess I didn't know it had been THAT long!! Oooops!

The monkey is doing great - getting smarte
r and cuter every day. He's talking up a storm and very active - as usual. This kid will not stay still - I honestly don't know how he stays standing sometimes. He loves being outside. He's been taking lots of rides on the back of his dad's bike - and loves it. He looks so sweet in his little bike helmet! Now... if only we had a lawn...

Easte
r was great - he had a great time running around gathering eggs - aside from one little issue...I'll let you see for yourself - so hilarious!

Winter Weekend

So, even though I'm dreaming of spring, this was one of those weekends that I felt so fortunate to live in New England. Check out the scene outside our window first thing Saturday morning. I mean, it just doesn't get much more beautiful than that. I told Todd, it reminded me of the scene in A Christmas Story when Ralphie wakes up on Christmas morning and runs to the window to find the trees covered with snow. Even Nicholas couldn't tear himself away from the window!

We had a great weekend, but busy - are there any other kind these days? We had the kitchen tile done. We are finally rid of the pink tile once and for all. It looks great. And... dare I say it outloud... we are ready for final inspection tomorrow. I am trying to go into it with an open mind, expecting that the jerk will find some silly thing for us to change, but I'm still hoping and praying for a miracle. I told Todd, if we get the CO tomorrow - I'm sleeping in my new bedroom. I don't care if I have to drag the mattress in there myself. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

All is well in Nicholasland. He is eating like a pig again. The other morning, he ate almost 3 full eggwhites and a whole piece of wheat toast. Yesterday morning, he ate almost an entire donut - AFTER he'd already eaten breakfast. He should have that weight back on in no time. This is a picture of Todd doing clean-up after the donut. He decided to "Tim Taylor" the crumbs and go straight for the vacuum! Yup, I live with 2 boys!!!! God help me...
