I was beginning to wonder if Spring would ever come this year, but alas... it is officially here. Thank goodness. Truthfully, I don't think anyone is happier than Nicholas that the weather is getting nicer. He is spending pretty much all of his time outside these days and loving every minute of it.
We have DEFINITELY entered the terrible twos around here, and some days are just plain exhausting. I actually made Todd bring Nicholas to the the pediatrician because I was so upset by the tantrums and disturbing change in his personalty. I found myself yelling out loud, "What happened to him??!! Something must be wrong!! This is not my Nicholas!" I was sure he had an ear infections or something. Well... turns out nothing is wrong. He's just two. Ugh...
This is not to say that every day is tough. Today, for instance, he has been fantastic. Todd is working a double shift today, which gives me lots of time alone with him, something that is pretty rare. He has been perfectly agreeable, and we have had a wonderful day together. We made cupcakes earlier, and he just had one for a snack. He is totally into cooking lately. Yesterday he helped me make the pasta salad for dinner. He pulls up his little chair to the counter to stand on and says, "Me help, Mama. Me cook." So sweet.
Life is pretty busy around here lately, and I feel terrible about not blogging more, but sometimes I just can't seem to find the time. Like right now, for example... I have report cards to finish, and he's only asleep for so long. Oh well... the 22 other kids I'm responsible for will have to wait today! The other problem is... I am having a terrible time taking pictures of him lately (I think I've been saying that for the last year, though.) My friend Michele always has such gorgeous pictures of her kids. She suggested just standing back and snapping away as he plays. Who knew... I actually got some cute shots that way! I got about 100 crappy ones, but a few good ones - thank God for digital cameras.
Hope everyone is doing well. Happy Spring to all!

Kristin,
The joys of Motherhood....next it will be the "trying threes"! Always changing. EVERYONE will survive, sometimes but for the grace of God.
We are missing the little guy (and you and Todd, of course). Enjoy Spring.
Aunt Sue
I am so glad to hear he is normal and not just a perfect all of the time (that is the story I hear from the grandparents) . He has grown so and looks so grown up. I can't wait to see him at Highland Lake .
