A Weekend in Baltimore
This was Nicholas's first stay in a hotel, and I have to say, it was a little stressful. He did not sleep very well, and I was sure our neighbors would be knocking on our door in the middle of the night, but thankfully, that didn't happen. He loved checking everything

Todd and I try to get to at least one game at Fenway each year, and we have been so excited to bring Nicholas to his first Red Sox game. I suppose it won't be long before he's plowing down the Fenway Franks in his baseball cap, waiting anxiously with his mit for a foul ball to come his way. Bring it on!

Things have been SO busy around here, it's taken me a week to get the Baltimore pics up. I'll do an update on the house next time. Things are really moving now!

Welcome to the Mud Pit
Nicholas had an exciting day today - he got his first pair of shoes! Nana and Papa took him to Stride Rite and got him a pair of sneakers. When my sister and I were little, my Nanny Dickinson always bought
our shoes at Stride Rite - so... the tradition continues! He looks like such a big boy in them. He is getting very close to walking on his own and he seems very comfortable in his new kicks!

A Special Weekend
Over the past 5 or 6 years, Todd and I have spent countless weekends dreaming of the day when we could be with our little one, going on family adventures together. Well, we've finally made it there. This weekend was so great - filled with lots of family time.
After my first week back at school, I was determined to make the best of the three days I'd have with Nicholas and Todd. We went to a picnic at a friend from Avon's house on Saturday, and had a great time. It was so nice for Todd to finally meet the people that I talk about all of the time. Nicholas loved watching the kids play, dipping his toes in the pool, and eating a sn
o cone! Yes, he plowed through that thing in no time flat. I think it felt great on his swolen gums.
On Sunday morning we went for a walk around the West Hartford reservoir. I kept thinking as we were walking, how could this beautiful place have been just 15 minutes away all along, and I never even knew it existed?! It was a pretty challenging walk, and incredibly beautiful. Nicholas loved seeing all of the other walkers passing by, and all of the dogs too! I have a feeling we'll be making a return visit sometime
soon.

This morning, we were visited by a low-flying hot air balloon, flying right through our backyard! It's so much fun showing Nicholas all of these new things.
And, to top it all off, this afternoon, just before Todd left for work, I decided to stick my finger into Nicholas's mouth to check on the tooth progress and... SURPRISE!!! There was a tooth there! I swear, that thing was not there yesterday!
So, hopefully all of this fun and excitement will be all the fuel I'll need to get me through the week at school!

We Survived the Week!
What a week! Nicholas went to daycare 3 days in a row this week, and it went great! He's definitely settling into a routine for Debbie's house. Today was a Daddy day, and also a very busy construction day. Poor Todd is going to have a heck of a time getting a home routine that he can actually stick to! I know they'll be able to figure it out. They'll have all of next week to work on it too! He doesn't go back to daycare until th 14th.
They're making good progress on the addition. The foundation for the living room is almost finished - they should pour the floor on Tuesday. Then, they start all over again on the garage/master bedroom! Hopefully, everything will continue to go smoothly. We're really looking forward to the extra space!
Right now, though, we're all just completely exhausted. Things are so crazy right now with all of these changes. We're looking forward to a nice long quiet weekend together.
